World’s Highest Railway Bridge Over Chenab River to Soon Become A Reality
The 359-meter-high bridge which is being constructed over the Chenab river is a part of Indian Railways’ mega plan to connect Kashmir valley with Udhampur known as Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Line, the India Today reported. the bridge is being touted to be taller than France’s Eiffel Tower which stands at a height of 300 meters. The bridge will have railway stations at both the ends and the construction for the same is going on with full force. The steel is blast proof and it is being prepared to withstand any kind of attack. Nearly, 500 locals have been employed in this category through the project and are expected to boost tourism and development in the valley. The Chenab bridge is being constructed between Bakkal and Kauri in the Resai district.
