Versova Welfare Association
The Versova Welfare Association in Mumbai is a community of 25-30 members. This community has set up 5 public refrigerators across Mumbai with an aim to feed underprivileged people. Anyone can deposit excess or fresh vegetarian food in the fridges. The aim of this project is to eradicate hunger. Usually, the fridges are full enough to feed 400-500 meals per day and if someday the food is not enough, the members contribute to filling the fridge with food. They hope that this project inspires people around the world and they join them in their objective to eradicate poverty.
