However tough and hard a turtle might me, he still needs protection. And Dharini understood it pretty well when she saw kids playing cricket with turtle eggs. She has been working extensively to change the attitude of people towards turtles. Since 2002, she has released more than 44,654 hatchlings in the sea. Dharini’s efforts have brought people together from all sections of the community. From a student preparing for IAS exams to a fisherman, everyone has come together to protect the species. Kudos to the lady who has given a new life to the species which has mostly been ignored.
