MODI’S ASSURANCE OF RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE
In all fairness I owe to the Prime Minister to report what he said publicly today. For whatever reasons, compulsions, opportunities.. he may have in mind.
One only hopes that he and his government actually design and implement policies that ensure this promised tolerance and respect.
And if does that – personally I am very skeptical – and proceeds to use his massive majority and Hindutva’s support to secure a sustainable resolution of Kashmir imbroglio and strike friendly relations with Pakistan, posterity may forgive him his unarguably grave sins. Even attempting to do so sincerely may go down well with many aggrieved.
