MAN USED AS HUMAN SHIELD BY INDIAN ARMY
On April 9, 2017, an incident took place in Beerwah, Kashmir in which Indian army officials tied a civilian in the front of their Jeep as a human shield. They stated that he was used as a deterrent against stone pelters. A video was uploaded on 13 April that went viral on social media which showed Farooq Ahmad Dar, the victim, tied in front of the jeep. Video of him following the incident has been shared online, in which he shows his damaged clothes to the camera and explains that he was on the way to a funeral when the army beat him and tied him to the jeep. This act outraged anger among some people and received strong criticism.
