Launch of Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) -2013
India’s first interplanetary mission was executed on November 5, 2013, Mangalyaan entered Mar’s Orbit on September 24, 2014, making India the first Asian country and only the fourth country in the world to enter the Mars orbit in its first attempt. Mars Orbiter Mission’s objective is to collect data from the red planet and also showcase India’s rocket launch systems, spacecraft-building, and operations capabilities.
