JINNAH AND GANDHI
Was #Jinnah more of a hypocrite than #Gandhi?
For the discerning observers, Mohammed Ali Jinnah, in his personal values, was an agnostic [not unlike Nehru]. He rarely prayed, drank regularly, perhaps ate pork, took a non-Muslim bride…] but ended up creating a state in the name of religion, praying and generally performing as an observant, faithful Muslim. That he is revered with a RA [Rahmatullah Alaihi, or may God bless him] only testifies to what his public posturing led to.
Gandhi, on the other hand, firmly believed in faith, professed and practiced it – privately and publicly. He came very close to living out his profession until his last.
