Experiments with Eggs -TRAFFIC LIGHT Color Eggs
Explanation: An egg in vinegar becomes bouncy and rubbery in a day because of the chemical reaction between the base, calcium carbonate present in the shell and the acetic acid present in vinegar. When these bouncy eggs are left in water the membrane over the bouncy egg allow water molecules to enter the egg and if the water is colored, the egg absorbs the color resulting in enlarged and bouncy colored eggs.
In this case, we have traffic light colors: red, yellow and green colored eggs. You can try with other colors also and remember the principle behind the experiment is called – OSMOSIS.
