Dr. Satendra Singh
Dr. Satendra Singh who contracted polio at the age of 9 months, is a noted disability activist. He is a doctor at UCMS and GTB Hospital, Delhi. He stood up for the rights and representation of disabled people. He was discriminated at various levels in life and recalls not being called for UPSC interview as one of the worst feelings. It was through his efforts that doctors with disabilities can now apply for various Central Health Services posts. He also fought to make public places disable friendly He was awarded by the Delhi Government for his efforts.
