A private hospital in Delhi overcharged by 1000%
A Delhi hospital billed Rs 189.95 for an injection that cost Rs 13.64. This was revealed when the apex body for price control of drugs and medical devices released a report stating all the details of the purchase. “Bed bath wet wipes, a consumable product, was purchased at Rs 33 by the hospital and billed to the patient at Rs 350—nearly 950 percent profit,” reported NPPA. Unfortunately, no actions were taken because they said items did not fall under the ambit of the Drug Price Control Order.
