“First you LEARN, then you remove the L”
WHO WE ARE
We are India’s nationally awarded NGO, registered in 2002, to promote rationality, scientific temper, inter-faith harmony, justice and empowerment of the impoverished.
We are techno-savvy. Companies like Microsoft, Google, AutoDESK etc regards us as their charity partner and support us. We work on the Office365 cloud.
FACILITIES
Our HO and a hostel for interns are located at Paldi in central Ahmedabad. We are also building a digitally powered residential campus to house a PG Academy and a House of Reason, at Matar, 30 KMs from Ahmedabad
In the normal course, instead of money stipend, we provide bachelor accommodation and food, recreation, work-related transport and internet. They share common amenities but gender-specific bed-rooms.
CERTIFICATION
Every Intern receives our much-coveted certificate clearly listing her learning and contribution. Twin Track Internship earns two certificates.
Architectural Interns report to and receive CoA accredited Architect’s certificate, and to the Chief Manager in allied managerial areas
FEE AND OUR COSTS
No, we do not charge a fee. After all we don’t ‘teach’ as colleges or tutorials are supposed to do. Instead we provide opportunity to practice what you learnt there. In the process you also contribute productivity for our progress and advancement, in areas of your proficiency.
AREAS OF INTERNSHIP
Interns come to us from various universities for training in a range of study fields including Research and Writing, Civil Engineering and CoA mandated Architecture, Infotech, Graphics and Videos, Accounting and Finance et al. Please select the areas of your interest carefully in the Application Form under Primary and Secondary listing.
Medium and Long-term Interns / Associates and Fellows may opt for our unique Twin-Track Internship. This lets you choose two different sets of areas simultaneously, one in your chosen primary area and the other as General Management Trainee in secondary area, such as Architecture and HR – or, say, IT and Presentation – regardless of your course of study. This helps you acquire skills that your course missed but which your hirers and your profession will require.
JOB-LINKED INTERNSHIPS
Our Internships come hard, but bring promise of reward. During the Internship we prepare you to handle the challenges of career. Usually after three months of rigorous internship – specially in the Immersive format – we assess your preparedness to enter our regular service. And if you come up to our satisfaction and commit a minimum acceptable lock-in period we are glad to convert you into regular service. If you are desirous of such career at SPRAT, do indicate this in the Application form or its accompanying mail and during the interview. Remember we are as keen for bright employees as you may be for an appreciative employer.

The following types of internships may be considered. In the normal course we do not pay a stipend. Instead, usually we offer the following benefits. Additionally, for non-mandatory internships beyond six months a stipend may be paid:
- Personal and Residential [PAR]
- The interns live with and work at SPRAT full time, as in an Ashram
- Boarding, lodging, work-related transport and internet are provided
- Personal and Non-residential [PNR]
- The interns come and work at SPRAT but stay at their own home
- Lunch and local 2-wheeler fuel/bus fare
- Remote and Work from Home [RWH]
- The interns don’t come to SPRAT but work from their own place using their own infrastructure
- Reimbursement of all expenses incurred with prior consent
The duration may vary depending upon your eligibility and the nature of Internship as follows:
- Short Vacation
- 4-8 weeks
- Only for PNR Internships
- Only for qualified graduates / PGs
- Summer Vacation
- 6-10 weeks
- Only for college and university students
- Mandatory Internships
- 6-52 weeks
- Depending upon your institution’s requirements
- Associateship
- 6-9 months
- Only if Voluntary and not mandatory
- Fellowship
- 9-12 months
- Only if Voluntary and not mandatory
While personal and non-residential interns generally follow a 10:00-6:30 regime, our residential interns adopt an ashram-like 24×7 productive, fun-filled engagement.
The accommodation would be easily accessible, secure, and reasonably comfortable. While other amenities are shared by all alike, bed-rooms are shared only gender-wise.
While we make all learning fun, we also expect productivity and commitment worthy of your self-respect, in return for our hospitality and training.
Our ‘hostels’ at Ahmedabad are essentially our founder’s private homes. While you receive homely care and comfort, you are expected to maintain due decorum befitting cultured people.
To prevent frivolous applications and to protect the interest of genuine Interns, once you are selected you may be asked to confirm it with a security deposit in money form or with two educational documents
Remember, we need you as much as you need us.
Therefore, if you have the talent – and enormous self-respect never to aspire for free lunch – then regardless of the terms advertised, please take a chance to speak with our HR Head
