Shyam Kumar, an auto driver, around 16 years ago, he chanced upon a 2,000-year-old book called ‘Vrikshayurvedam’. He learned interesting facts about trees and forests from this book, he also read how a single tree help to 10 children at a time. Shyam lives in a town called Thenkurrisi in the Palakkad locale of Kerala. He began to do some exploration to take in more about the trees that develop well around there and what he ought to plant to help the creatures and winged animals regularly found in the area. He began by planting trees around his home. With the help of others, he planted approximately 23000 trees.
