Swapnil Chaturvedi, Pune
Swapnil Chaturvedi is on a mission to build toilets accessible to poor since 2013 with his wife Taniya Ganguly. He founded Samagra Sanitation and the non-profit arm of this called the Samagra Empowerment Foundations which concentrates on design, technology and behavioral science to tackle the problem of open defecation. To encourage more people to use toilets, they have come up with the concept of “LooRewards” which reward regular users of community washroom. His project was also funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He calls himself the “Poop man”.
