Daripalli Ramaiah, Telangana
Seventy year old Daripalli Ramaiah has planted 10 million trees in his lifetime. He was once labeled as “mentally unstable” by his villagers as he used to pedal kilometers to plant a tree sapling on barren land. He is a firm believer of the saying “Save trees, trees will save you.” His passion for planting trees hasn’t gone unnoticed, he has been awarded by with many national and state level recognition. He is also a recipient of Padma Shri award.
